What Will Become Of Denver?

Posted: April 13, 2017 in Uncategorized

I ran across this local article about a man who set himself on fire in front of police officers down in Confluence Park, a city attraction.  The argument here is why hadn’t his lighter been detained upon being handcuffed, though would this man have a justified reason to sue the city for not serving to protect him from himself.  One things for sure, it’s going to be an interesting Summer in D-town.

Unrolling 2015!

Happy New Year (if you’re reading),

Welcome back to the page.  It’s been a minute since I’ve jotted down anything worthwhile.  I’ve been missing the page myself, so I had to come and wipe down the cobwebs before beginning to write anything down.

Since my last post, over the past holiday season I was preparing to launch an online show called “The Queue Up”, which has since brought me great satisfaction in doing so.  Being a fan of music of all styles, and helping to expose music which otherwise would go unnoticed is the least I can do for the abundance of talent out there.    Artists like The Host Club, Reina Williams, Benson The Dog, and Moxy & the Influence have all contributed their time and talent to the show.  Gioia’ Bruno of the 90’s Megastar female trio Expose’ came on to the show (upon repeatedly stalking her). Who could ask for anything more?   Oh yeah, a Co-Host!  I finally recruited my good and dear friend of twenty years Rodney to lend his sharp tongue, and quick wit to the program.

The show seems to be evolving  and growing with each episode we generate. Though independent music is our basis, we are finding we want to create more panels, as we did with the Michael Brown panel after the verdict was read.  We’ve also been toying at the idea of motivational speakers on and even some politics to keep the show ablaze.  The show pretty much runs itself with hand picked music, up to date and entertainment news, calendar of events, sports updates and a studio of indie music stars, producers and music entreprenuers to thrust the show into the social atmosphere.   Be sure to tune into the show on Monday and Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (MST) @ http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thequeueup.

I’ve also been working feverishly on my new music project entitled “Nightlife Confessions # 15” which I’m hoping to have available to listeners on ITUNES this fall.  I’ve been really excited about the material I was able to hand select.   I’ve gotten some really good feedback on the sounds.    Lastly, I’ve enrolled back into school. Even though heart is with my music and on the stage, a degree in music journalism and entertainment wouldn’t be so bad either.  I plan on rubbing elbows one way or another.

I do hope that your New year is kicking off to a great start, and I appreciate you checking in on me.  stay tuned for some great things to come.  I’m awaiting them myself:)

Until we meet again,

Dex T.

Launch of the show! 2 WEEKS!!

O.K! it’s almost here, and I’m pooping my pants.  Well not really, but I am anxiously attempting to make sure that everything is perfect for the first online show.

What makes this different, you ask?  I’m not really sure.  I mean I’ve listened to a few of the other shows online for the practice, and to kind of get a feel for what it is they’ve got going on .  I mean sure, anyone can talk about entertainment.  anyone can talk about sports.  anyone can talk about music.  quite so, they possibly can, but can they host it? can they represent it? can they prepare articulate conversation to ensure that they’ve done their research?  they can. It can be quite tedious, looking for subject and material, seeking new ideas to brand and claim your own.   It has to be fun in the end, when you can look back and reminisce on the stomping ground in which you built up..

I’ve booked my first guests, Benson the Dog, a very funny pair of guys made up of Ben Westlund, and Will Hanson.  They residents right here in Denver, Colorado and have been performing together the past two years. They remain active in the music scene performing at such places as Herman’s Hideaway, and The Marquee in Boulder.  This show will actually be pre recorded to air on Monday November 17th @ 10:30 a.m. MST, as these guys have a full schedule.

I actually spoke with Ben for the first time, after the Denver vs. Patriots game being broadcast on television (we were both left scratching our heads), and it felt as though I’d known the guy all of my life.  He picked up the phone and answered it like he knew me, and I responded like he knew me, ha.    None-the-less, Ben is quite amusing, a very soft spoken and humble guy, a far cry from his stage presence.  He has his hands in like 10 different things and is still able to give a memorable performance to awaiting fans, most credible. In the meantime check out their site and music, I think you’d really like them.  Some of their material is adult oriented, but it’s not raunchy, it’s clever and well executed.  They have a modest fan base, and remain humbled and interactive with their listeners. I can’t wait to share what they have going on at the launch.

I hope your ears will be there,

The Queue Up!

Posted: October 18, 2014 in Uncategorized

Greetings Readers and Fans,

It’s been sometime, but It’s almost time!

After concluding the Colorado Media School I found that my niche was in interviewing/corresponding.   I had to give  much thought into what it was I desired to accomplish.  My interest in media and pop culture reassured me that t a platform dedicated to the artist; musicians, artists, directors, authors, producers, writers and any person or persons making waves in their artistry was constitutive.  The name of my show is entitled The Queue Up!

My goal is to capture big names, and independents all in an effort to further expose and expand their brands, as well as my own.

I’m so excited for the launch of the show which is slated for November so please stay tuned.  If you’d  like to be featured on the show, please feel free to contact me and we may discuss your artistic angle.

Thank you for all of your support and I hope that you stay tuned for what is to emerge.  I believe it’s oing to be fun for everyone.

The Journey’s End

Posted: March 27, 2014 in Uncategorized

The last year has been mind-boggling no doubt, though it has been one of the most fulfilling and favored accomplishments  I have had the pleasure of knowing for some time.

My time is nearing at The Colorado Media School next month and I anxiously await the new adventure(s) to follow.  For the past year, the school has provided me the tools and ability to perfect a craft; mastering the skill of voice talent and audio editing,  grasping how to be in front of or behind the camera, and the process of multiple writing styles and video editing.  It’s taught me a way in which to bring all these elements together to create an idea. a story. a passion.    It’s also breathed life into the editing of my own music.

As a kid I was most in seek of a place in which to let my creative juices run wild, to share the ideas and to be artistically free and capable of thriving off of a passion which sat deep down.  so where this all land me you ask?  well, if you’ve followed my journey thus far, I hope that you continue to monitor my progress.   If left up to me, you’ll see an album release, entertainment correspondent work and award winning writing for a top publicaOh  tion to include a fashion and music magazine.  Oh, and a completed autobiography in which I’ve been working for sometime though haven’t touched in awhile.   Thank God for Colorado Media School.  it has rejuvinated my hunger and drive for everything media related.

I’m gonna miss this place, and the faces.

Here’s to the life!
